Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) is based in St. John's, NL and while our organization and the Shave for the Brave are growing nationally, that's where the majority of our support continues to stem from. We held an awards gala on May 17, 2011 to thank the numerous Schools, Offices, Solo, and Community Shavers who lost their hair this year in support of young adults with cancer.

Geoff Eaton, Founder and Executive Director of Young Adult Cancer Canada, was the MC for the evening as he recognized the top Supporters, Schools, Offices, and Solo Shavers from the region.

Renee Bennett, two-time cancer survivor and YACC Board Member, shared her story with the crowd and gave context to the reasons why we're Shaving for the Brave each year. She spoke of the positive impact YACC has had on her life and what it meant for her husband, daughter, and son to go bald with her as she Shaved for the first time this year.

In the meantime, know we thank you each day for your involvement with the 2011 Shave for the Brave, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
