Shave for the Brave News

Breaking ground in Ottawa

Posted on May 02, 2011

We held our first Shave for the Brave in Ottawa at Place d'Orleans on Saturday, April 30.

There were 17 Shavers and the grand total for the day was $8,000!

The Shavers brought their supporters as spectators and DJ Noah from LiVE 88.5 did a great job asking them all about their own stories and motives for Shaving for the Brave.

DJs Noah and John Moran also Shaved their heads, and made a race out of it to gain some bragging rights in addition to the warm fuzzies they got from helping young adult cancer survivors.

The entertaining radio team also interviewed some survivors who were there to support the event, like Chris Gracez and his dad, a cancer patient who decided to shave at the last minute when he was feeling well enough to attend.

It sounds like the Shave for the Brave in Ottawa was a great event, and we're sorry we weren't able to be there to see it! We can't wait for next year!
