Shave for the Brave News
Our first Shave in Red Deer was a great success
Posted on Apr 13, 2011
We have been holding Shaves in St. John's for six years, Calgary for two, and we're breaking ground in Red Deer, Ottawa, and Halifax this year.
The Red Deer Shave was on Saturday, April 9, at the Parkland Mall and we couldn't have asked for more from the community. 25 people Shaved, including city councillor Buck Buchanan and KG Country DJ Greg Shannon, and the event raised over $10,300 for Young Adult Cancer Canada.
That brings our national total to over $383,000 for the year with Halifax and Ottawa left to go!
YACC alumni, Chris and Tanya Michel, did a great job organizing, promoting, and executing the event. Chris, Tanya, and the whole Carswell family have been so supportive of YACC in the past few years. We're so fortunate to have met them and so happy they have chosen to help our organization.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our sponsors such as NewCap radio, KG Country 95.5, Zed99, Q14, Q91, Parkland Mall, MC College, and all of the volunteers, shavers, and citizens of Red Deer.
We hope to see you all next year!
