Shave for the Brave News
Repairing jewelry and changing lives
Posted on Apr 04, 2011

Kearney's Watch Repair has been operating in the Avalon Mall since 1969, long before the Shave for the Brave moved to the shopping centre, but they have embraced the event and continued to show their support in 2011.
Gillian Webster and Michelle Norman signed up a couple of years ago after members of each of their families had recently gone through cancer treatment. Their hair was long enough to donate again this year, so they came back!
Coincidentally, their coworker, Zak Cave, had lost a bet with a friend and had to shave his head as retribution so he decided to participate in the Shave for the Brave and make it count.
The Kearney's team raised over $1,200 when they made their way down the hallway to the Shave area on March 12.
In addition to signing up to Shave, they also participated in the Toonie Toque initiative and decorated their storefront with little paper toques to raise more money for the cause.
We really appreciate the continued support of Kearney's Watch Repair and we hope to see you again next year!
