Shave for the Brave News
Kristy Shaved for her sister and grandparents
Posted on Apr 11, 2011

Kristy Sheppard has dealt with a lot of cancer in her young life. Her twin sister, Jennifer, was diagnosed with cancer when they were 8. Three years later, Jen lost her battle. Shortly after, her grandmother and grandfather also died from cancer.
While that history might get some people down, the Labrador native's fundraising page says she's invovled because "To be able to help those suffering from the disease or those who have recovered is a wonderful opportunity. I'm excited to be involved in such a small way to hopefully, with your support, make a big impact."
On March 28, Kristy Shaved for the Brave in her life. So far, her total is over $2,200! Wow!
Kristy, we applaud you for taking your experiences and using them as a motivator for helping the 7,000 young adults diagnosed with cancer each year in Canada. Thank you very much!
