Shave for the Brave News

Snowstorms, ski hills, and shaved heads

The Marble Mountain Shave was supposed to be on Saturday, February 26, but Mother Nature had other plans. The west coast of Newfoundland was hit with a snowstorm so bad, the ski hill had to close. One day and nearly 50 centimetres of snow later, five Shavers raised $4,329!

We understand not everyone was able to stay for the rescheduled time because they had to make the long drive back to the city. We invite you to join us at the Avalon Mall Shave on March 12 or hold your own Solo Shave. Contact info@shaveforthebrave.ca if you would like more information.

Thank you to all the Shavers, spectators, and staff at Marble Mountain. A special thank you goes out to Daphne and everyone at East Coast Beauty for organizing the event and Shaving the heads. We're looking forward to next year!

I think we could all use a pair of pants like that these days!

One hair can bear a load of 100 grams (about the weight of a chocolate bar). If a person’s scalp was strong enough, a head of hair could hold 10-15 tonnes!
