Levi Wadsworth's Super Cool 2010 Shave for the Brave Story

Whoever said mullets weren't cool?  This year's Calgary community Shave at Southcentre Mall was not only a first for Young Adult Cancer Canada, it was pretty unique too.  Levi Wadsworth was one of eight Calgary shavers who participated in the first ever Mullet Pageant (yes, Mullet Pageant) in advance of the event.

Each shaver went to their stylist to get the cut with the aim to ultimately shave it off in support of young adults with cancer.

"I had to explain it to everyone at work and all over the place what it was for which was a great way to let people know about Young Adult Cancer Canada and what they do," Levi said.

Just Freaking Do It!

When the deed was done, his wife thought it was "an interesting change" and his friends said it was weird to see him without hair but Levi didn't care.

"It was a blast, easy to get involved with, and also the reason behind it is one that affects nearly everyone!  If you don't like laughing and spending time investing in the future generations and the present ones, it's not for you. If that sounds like a good time, get on and enjoy the ride!"

So take it from Levi -- mullet or not, the Shave for the Brave is a super fun way to make a big difference in the lives of young adults with cancer.  If you aren't too sure about participating, or have a friend who isn't, tell them Levi said "JUST FREAKING DO IT!"
