23 Survivors and Supporters Retreat themselves thanks to Shave for the Brave.

AWESOME RETREAT

Funds raised from the 2010 Shave for the Brave allow Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) to provide various support programs for young adults with cancer in Canada. One of these programs, Retreat Yourself, was just held from May 27-31 in Abbotsford, BC.

Retreat Yourself is an annual five-day life-changing weekend where young adult cancer survivors and their supporters can get together with both peer and professional facilitators to share their experiences, learn from one another, and just relax and have fun!

RETREATER TESTIMONIAL

Two people in attendance at Retreat Yourself 2010 were Tanya and Chris. Tanya was diagnosed with cervical cancer one month ago and she and her husband Chris live in Red Deer with three small children. Their experience at the Retreat was life changing.

Tanya said, "Retreat Yourself has changed both of our lives in so many ways, it is a life-altering experience. It is almost as if you step out of life for a moment and reach to the souls of a new community. This new community becomes the most amazing support that anyone could ever imagine.
