You know people are committed to the cause when 5 individuals manage to raise an amazing $2,566.50 for their Shave for the Brave event - more than enough funds to send 2 deserving young adults with cancer on a four day life-changing weekend retreat!

Thanks so much to Laura Power, the Head Hunter for the Shave, and the 4 others who raised pledges and went under the clippers today, either donating braids or “going all the way”.  It was a festive day with everyone wearing St. Paddy’s day garb… and yellow toques!

The Telegram Shavers should also be very proud that they actually EXCEEDED their fund-raising goal. Way to go!

The Cause

  Since life is different when you’re a young adult, it makes sense that cancer is too.

Young Adult Cancer Canada aims to help every Canadian young adult dealing with cancer by offering programs to inspire, inform, support, and connect with other survivors.

All funds raised during the Shave for the Brave help us offer our programs at no cost to the young adult cancer patients and survivors who truly need them.
