What is a Mane Mama?
A Mane Mama is anyone who wants to spread the word about the Shave but isn’t committed to losing their hair or organizing an event. You should promote the event by wearing your badge proudly and answering any questions that arise, profiling your badge and reposting info on Facebook and Twitter, collecting pledges for a Shaver, and spreading the word however possible.

What do I do on event day?
Show up to cheer on the Shavers and help out with lineups, registration, pledge collection, and other necessary tasks that may help the Head Hunter and the team.

I am not a mother. Can I still be a Mane Mama?

Yes. A Mane Mama is anyone who wants to wear a Mane Mama badge, whether they're a mama or not. You don't even have to be supporting a Shaver!

Consider donating to the cause or contact info@shaveforthebrave.ca for possible volunteer opportunities.

Of course, you can always shave or donate 10 inches of hair to help make a wig for a child!

What is the Bravest School Banner?

The Bravest School Banner is awarded each year to the school with the highest percentage of students Shaved.

It doesn't matter how much money was raised, as long as every student meets the registration fee. We divide the number of Shavers by the number of students and the school with the biggest percentage wins!

Where does the money go?

All funds raised during the Shave for the Brave go directly toward supporting our programs for young adult cancer survivors such as Retreat Yourself; the annual Survivor Conference; We Get It; and Goaltender.

Donations allow us to offer these programs at no cost to the young adults that truly need them.

Where do I drop off donations I have received?

If you are supporting a Shaver, please bring your donations to the school, business, or community event on the day of your Shave where the Head Hunter (Shave organizer) will collect the money. 

You can also drop off your pledges at our office during office hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30-5). Just give us a call first at 1-877-571-7325.

Obviously, if you're not in St. John's, we'll coordinate another way to deliver the money. Call us and we'll figure out the best option.
